January 24, 2006Topic says it all. I have a few microfiber towels that need to be cleaned. Should I wash them just like the rest of my laundry? Line dry or tumble? Fabric softener or no? If yes, dryer sheet or liquid? I have a black vehicle, so care of the towels used to dry it is important. I could always just buy new ones every 6 months or so I suppose. I do use microfibers for other things though, such as the windows and interior, care suggestions for those also?

January 24, 2006I wash mine like normal but I dont use fabric softener . I was told it ruins the towels . Most of the time I just hang them up by the washer to dry .
January 24, 2006There's not a tag on them like normal towels?
January 24, 2006I wash 'em in hot water, double rinse, no fabric softener - in the washer or dryer sheets. I take them out of the dryer when they're still a little damp. Makes them easier to fold (no static electricity) and they feel better against my fingertips.
This is actually the same procedure I use for terry towels as well.
January 25, 2006Thanks Jerry. My towels and wash mitt are in the washer now. I knew you'd come through for me when it came to wash/wax items.
January 26, 2006Same here wash in hot water with liquid detergent, NO FABRIC SOFTENER - fabric softeners clog the microfiber pores and prevent them from absorbing.
Also wash microfiber towels only with microfiber towels..the lint from cotton towels or wash mitts will stick the the MF like glue.
