October 28, 2010my door hinges on my 2000 silverado are welded on the door and body of the truck. is this on every 2000 or is it something the people before me did aftermarket or something? thanks

October 28, 2010It should have a big heavy duty hinge welded on and then a smaller one that is bolted on. The smaller one is the one that acts as the door stop when you open the door and just let it swing free.
ps. the hinge should be the same paint color of the truck, if it looks aftermarker, take a pic to help people on the site narrow it down.

December 21, 2010Your hinges should be factory that way there`s 3 ten mm bolts and your speaker wires to in plug and the door will lift off if you are tring to replace the door pins and there the factory ones you need to cut the bottom of the pins and that will allow or u to change those, if the pin holes have been worn out from them being bad for awhile u will need to cut the hinges off at the welds and there are own replacements that u install by drilling and bolting in the same place as the stock ones, I found I easier to remove the fender if u Need do that, hope it`s just pins for you good luck
