January 20, 2007In my opinion you would be better off using the IFS for pulling in your situation. Once you get to the lift you need to use the ifs, your going to start breaking more things than with the IFS. You would be better off buiding a military truck up with the d60 and 14ff with the large frame. A few ladder bars and other links and you will be bullet proff with 4 inches or so of lift. I've seen the newer trucks like yours pull. Sorry to say but they did bad performance wise. Then I've seen the older trucks with mild engines out pull the newer style. IMO youd be better off using an older truck and it would be cheaper.

January 20, 2007you would be better off getting a ram 2500 or 3500 with a cummins engine and dana axles .. then trailor that there with your dury ..
January 20, 20072002, either do the D60 swap and run 6" and 35's (you dont need Kat Kustoms for this)...
or just settle for an ORU steering upgrade.

January 21, 2007As for the clearance issues, I like to jump into these discusions a little late, but I built my S10 and it had 12 inch front springs hanging on a 3 inch hanger for a 15 inch suspenion lift and when I jumped the little bugger as seen in the video on my site the front driveshaft that is contected to the HP d60 tagged the exhaust so even with 15 inches of lift you could need bump stops which are not going to stop compression only slow it until they become fully compressed or squashed.
And I agree tha attitudes on this site in some of the posts sucks. Answer the question and try to do it without putting everyone down. That is my opinion
May 1, 2016Hi, my name is Shane. I have currently done an SAS conversion on my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. This truck has 8 inches of suspension lift, 3 inch body, sitting on 37.5â€™s. I went with a Dana 44 and a Dana 60 out of a 1974 F-250, due to output shaft being on driver side. It currently has the NP Electronic 246 t-case. I was wondering if there is another electronic push button t-case that I could go to like the HD series trucks. When I first done the conversion I had put a 208 t-case in and the truck wouldnâ€™t shift passed 2nd gear due to no electronic speedo, so I went and put the NP 246 back in and now I am having troubles establishing 4hi/4lo.
Have also hooked up front axle actuator and truck does shift into 4-wheel drive but I have no power to the front output shaft. I have put a large amount into this project and it seems like Iâ€™m not getting anywhere except spending money. Any kind of help, thoughts, or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
