June 7, 2009Yesterday i took my air filter out and was cleaning/blowing it out when i decided to seafoam my engine (4.8, 19k) and clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner. Well the plate was kinda dirty around the edges and as far as i could reach inside was pretty dirty. So after i cleaned out as much i thought i could i went to seafoam the truck. Well i put about a 3rd in (didn''t do any in the oil and it didn''t die out when it was sucking it in) and the rest in my gas tank. It smoked pretty good and i took it for a long ride after letting it sit while running for about 10mins at various speeds. Well It seems to be kinda slugish now. More when I''m starting from a dead start and giving it gas at city speeds. But when I''m driving at any speed and punch it, It seems okay. Do i have to drive it some more to let it clear out *or* should i try to seafoam it again *or* did i spray too much throttle body cleaner in there? I just don''t know. I did also notice that when I was doing 70mph the RPM''s were lower by like 200. Usually around 1900 now about 1700. Thanks for the help, Justin

June 7, 2009lower RPMS are a better thing usually and id keep driving and see if it goes back to normal it should burn it all out soon let us know
June 8, 2009Do you have a Air filter that is oiled like K&N???
If so get some Maf Cleaner and clean your Maf Sensor and see if that helps
June 8, 2009No. I have the GM performance air intake. Which is a dry air filter.
June 8, 2009Well it could be the PCM reading the "weaker" performance table so why it''s feeling sluggish. Put some 93 octane gas in the truck and drive a while and see if things get better.
June 9, 2009Well i still have about a half a tank of gas right now and the more i drive it the better it seems to get. Plus last night i went out to a friends and he lives on this road that''s about 20 miles long with no curves. So on the way home I would start at like 60 then punch it to 100 and i did that about 3 *or* 4 times. When i got back into town I noticed a little change so That seems to help too. Should I wait to fill up completely with that *or* would it be okay to mix both octanes?
June 9, 2009Personally, I''d wait and fill up with Exxon, mobil, BP 93 and run that tank thru before going back to your regular fill up station.
