November 8, 2010Hi this is my first post here...all tho I am a member on the Harley Zone sight. I have a 04 Chevy Diesel 4x4. It has the dual control for the heat, one for the passenger side and one for the drivers side. The passenger side works fine but the drivers side only blow cold air. I live in Reno, NV now and it`s cold here in the winter. As opposed to Mesa, AZ where I use to live and they tell me its 75 there today. Any help would be great and Thanks in advance.

November 8, 2010It might not be the switch could be the mode doors in the dash, its not opening to the heat side, and back in the day they were run off engine vacuum, if they still are now a line could of come off or have a leak in it.
Like a rock!!!
November 9, 2010I was kind of thinking the same thing but I`m not sure. I wonder if there is a way to look and see or test the door with out tearing the dash out of the truck.
November 9, 2010They are not vacuum anymore. They are now electric. You can take the cover off of the bottom of the dash and look at the actuator. There is a little round shaft on the bottom of the actuator, if it turns when you move the switch then it is probably working. It could also be a clogged heater core. I have a 99 and had both of these things happened. First I changed the actuator and then about a year later I had to unclog the heater core.
