February 22, 2011This bill seems to come and go every year without me really knowing where it went or if it is ever going to happen.......
I, a multiple gun owner, think it is a bad idea to allow people to carry on campus. Being out of college for less than two years now, I can still remember all the douchers on campus that would be considered "competent" to legally get a CHL.
The thing is, yes you may be considerd "competent and rational" according to the law if you have never been convicted of a felony and other prerequisites that are factors when it comes to obtaining a concealed handgun license but when was the last time many of us (not all) were rational when it came to a altercation and/or areas such as road rage...its really easy to lose your cool....and let us not forget, the majority of the people that would be carrying on campus would be 21-23 years old.
and yes, i know that many people currently have CHL`s and the death rate due to it is very low when compared to the actual amount of people that currently have a CHL. but it just eeks me to think that people could be carrying weapons as such on places instituted for higher learning.
Im not here to argue, just state my opinion and open the board up to other peoples opinions because I would really like to know what others think.
