May 27, 2012My 2000 siverado is making a noise like someone blowing a flute. It only seems to do it at about 65mph or above. Once I get to about 75, it is constant. Seems to be comin from in the dash or some where in front of the passenger compartment. On a cool morning, say about 65 degrees it doesnt make a sound, but once the day warms up, here it comes. Has anyone experienced anything like this ??

May 28, 2012Two possibilities (have had them both with my `01 Burb)
1) Bad seal around the windshield. Mine went away after I had the windshield replaced due to stone chips.
2) These trucks also have a problem with an air leak in the passenger footwell area. I never tracked it down, and it seemed to go away by itself. My wife would complain about a cold draft coming in when we were driving at highway speed during winter.
May 29, 2012Funny you should mention the windshield. Just had it replaced a couple months ago. I`ll have to look close at that possibility. Maybe they didn`t seal it properly.
June 15, 2012Went online last night to one of those pay the GM guy per question sites last night. He thinks it the "oriface tube" in the AC line going to the accumulator. He said they ca make that noise and can get quite loud. Man, do I know that! Anyway, it would require evacuating the system to change it, but supposedly not too awfully expensive. Just in case any of you guys experience it. I`ll be trying it soon.
