March 18, 2013Hey guys, have not been on this forum in a long while and looks like alot has changed! I have a problem I hope someone can help with. I have a 2002 silverado with keyless entry. My passenger door lock recently started acting up. It would just lock or unlock every now and then and it also caused my stock alarm to go off when I opened the passenger door last week. I am pretty sure it is the actuator. My question is how in the world do you get that thing out of there? Is it held on by the 3 bolts on the outside door edge that holds the latch mechanism? It is hard to see in there but I could not find any bolts inside the door that holds it on. Also my actuator has 3 connections and the one Dorman sells only has two connections. I think my third connection has something to do with the keyless entry/security. Is this connection necessary? Don`t really care if the alarm works or not just don`t want it going off for no reason. Thanks

April 23, 2013I ended up buying a doran replacement actuator and it works great. You have to take the 3 star bit bolts from the door and unhook all the electrical connections as well as the rods from different locations. The doran did not come with the alarm connection so I cut it off my old one and superglued it to the new unit and every thing works great. Hope this helps someone with the same problem.
